TYPE OF DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM |
1. Client-server model
In this model, a specific computer is known as a server which is specially dedicated to providing various services to another computer(called a client). In simple words, server cab is defined as services and clients can be as a requester to services. The client makes a request for any kind of information from the server and the server, in turn, responds to the client request in the diagram.

The client-server system is used in several places:-
- Telephone network and cellular network
- Computer network such as internet
- ATM machines
- Mobile computing, etc.
2. Peer to peer model
In peer to peer model, there are no dedicated servers. All computers are equal and, therefore, are termed as peers. In this the each of these machines functions both as a client and a server.

ADVANTAGE OF DISTRIBUTED OPERATING SYSTEM:-
- Give additional performance than a single system.
- If one laptop in distributed system malfunction or corrupts then different nodes or laptops can beware of.
- More resources are often further simple.
- Resources like printers are often shared on multiple PC's.
DISADVANTAGE OF DISTRIBUTED OPERATING SYSTEM:-
- Security downside because of sharing.
- Some messages are often lost within the network system.
- Bandwidth is another downside if there's giant knowledge then all network wires to get replaced that tends to become overpriced.
- Overloading is another downside in distributed operational systems.
- If there's info connected on the native system and lots of users accessing that info through remote or distributed manner then performance becomes slow.
- The databases in network operational are troublesome to deal with than single-user systems.
